Rachel first discovered yoga as a child. Her grandmother practiced hatha yoga during the 60s when yoga was in one of its waves of popularity in the West. “I have an early memory of trying to practice the poses alongside my grandmother, in a very playful, childlike way, of course!” Her next exposure to yoga was on Iowa Public Television, with the wonderful show, “Lilias! Yoga and You.” “I can close my eyes and recall the opening—Lilias Folan in silhouette performing the Classical Sun Salutation, surya namaskar.”
Rachel became an avid student of yoga in 1997, exploring various styles over the next ten years until, in 2007, she took her first Anusara Yoga® class and knew she had found her yogic home. Rachel began teaching hatha yoga in 2008 and became an Anusara-InspiredTM yoga instructor in March of last year.
